Giurgiu, Romania
Giurgiu is the capital city of Giurgiu County, Romania, in the Greater Wallachia. It is situated amid mud-flats and marshes on the left bank of the Danube facing the Bulgarian city of Ruse on the opposite bank. The Giurgiu-Ruse Friendship Bridge, in the shared Bulgarian-Romanian section of the Danube, crosses the river in the outskirts of the city. As a fortified city, Giurgiu figured often in the wars for the conquest of the lower Danube.

Svistov is a town in northern Bulgaria, located in Veliko Tarnovo Province on the right bank of the Danube river opposite the Romanian town of Zimnicea. The main industries in the town of Svistov include imports and exports via the harbor, electronics, chemical manufacturing, and wheat production. Some of the most beautiful places in Svistov are the unique river valley(1–2 km away from the town) which hosts the monastery of Svistov and the region called Мanastira.

Philip and James, the water tower and the Orthodox church of St Nicholas.
