Arles, France

 An international photography festival has been held in the city since 1970.

Arles is a city and commune in the south of France. The city has a long history, and was of considerable importance in the Roman province of Gallia Narbonensis. The Roman and Romanesque Monuments of Arles were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1981.

Avignon, France

As a showcase of arts and culture, the fame of its annual theatre festival, known as the Festival d' Avignon, has far exceeded the French borders.

Avignon is located in the South of France, on the left bank of the Rhone river and is mostly known as the city of the popes.

Chalon-sur-Saône, France

It is the largest city however, the department capital is the smaller city of Mâcon.

Chalon Sur Saone is in the region of Burgundy in eastern France. Is located on the Saône river, and was once a busy port, acting as a distribution point for local wines which were sent up and down the Saône river and the Canal du Centre, opened in 1792.

Le Pouzin, France

The bridge over the Rhone is 292 m long and weights 2000 tons.

Le Pouzin is a commune in the Ardeche department in southern France. It has two historical buildings: the Roman Bridge over the l'Ouveze, dates back to the second century and the ruins of the abbey of Saint Pierre Rompon.

Lyon, France

Guests of Lyon can visit the many museums and see the royal temple of Notre Dame de Fourvier.

Lyon is the third largest city in France after Paris and Marseille. Is considered one of the major metropolitan centers of Europe. Also, every year is organized an annual city festival. The odd years organized the festival of contemporary art, while the even organized the festival dance. These two festivals each year based on a specific theme and attract spectators and tourists from around the world.

 

Macon, France

Do not forget to visit the Chateau des Perrieres which is on a hill overlooking the town.

Macon is a small city in central France, lies on the western bank of the Saone River. Some of the main sights are the Old Saint- Vincent, the Macon Cathedral, the theatre of Macon and the municipal Olympic pool of Macon. 

Tournus, France

The most significant sight of Tournus is the church of St. Philibert.

Tournus is located on the right bank of the Saone River. Its port have considerable commerce in wine and in stone from the neighboring quarries.

Viviers, France

Today, it is still the see of the bishop of Ardèche.

Viviers is a commune in the department of Ardèche in southern France.
It is a small walled city situated on the right bank of the Rhône.
Viviers became the capital of the Gaulish Helvii tribe following the decline of nearby Alba-la-Romaine.
