Husavik is a town situated in Norðurþing Municipality, northeastern Iceland. Runavík is founded in 1916, it is on Faroe Islands on the south side of the isle of Eysturoy. It is an important port, which was used mainly by fishing boats but now also it is an important supply base for the North Sea oil industry and as a trans-shipment port to and from Europe for freight transport. Skagafjörður is about 40 km long and 15 km wide, situated between Tröllaskagi to the east and the Skagi Peninsula to the west. The people living in Skagafjörður have a reputation for choir singing, horsemanship, and gatherings. The bay is located in a submerged glacial valley which is continued southwards by a plain in which lies the delta of the Héraðsvötn river. The main settlement of this valley is Varmahlíð.
