From New York (USA) now in the Whale Corridors to King's Wharf (Bermuda), Spanish Town (Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands) and St. John's (Antigua and Barbuda) to Willemstad (Curaçao) and then Samana (Dominican Republic) to Ocean Cay (Bahamas) and finally to Miami (USA).
We say so long to the Big Apple and sail for the mystical mid-Atlantic archipelago of Bermuda - the inspiration, some say , for Shakespeare's The Tempest. It was here in 1609 on a dark 'n' stormy night that Sir George Somers and the Sea Venture ran aground, stranding the British sailors, and today the charming small towns of St George's and Hamilton remain whimsically British. Add to this Bermuda's peach-sand beaches, beautiful shallow reefs, rich birdsong and burgeoning creative energy and you have a beguilling mix.
From here to the Caribbean, where we trace a horseshoe of tropical islands: from volcanic Virgin Gorda, with its labyrinthine Baths and caves, to Antigua for its maritime history and myriad fine restaurants, Curacao in the Dutch West Indies for fairytale Willemstad and the melting pot of influences, and the Dominican Republic for the less traveled Samana's showering waterfalls and whale skeletons. Last bliss comes from our private marine reserve in the Bahamas before we sweep into high-spirited Miami.
