Off the coast of California in the Pacific lies the island of Santa Cruz, the largest of the eight islands of the Channel Islands, as well as the largest island of California. Isla Espiritu Santo is an island located in the Gulf of California, off the coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is part of a protected area called the Espiritu Santo Archipelago, which includes several other small islands and islets.
Isla Espiritu Santo is known for its pristine beaches, clear waters, and diverse marine life, including sea lions, dolphins, and a variety of tropical fish. The island is also home to several species of seabirds, including pelicans and frigatebirds.
La Paz is the capital city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur and an important regional commercial center. La Paz was first inhabited by Neolithic hunter-gatherers at least 10,000 years ago who left traces of their existence in the form of rock paintings near the city and throughout the Baja California Peninsula. On May 3, 1535, Hernán Cortés arrived in the bay by La Paz and named it Santa Cruz; he attempted to start a colony but abandoned his efforts after several years due to logistical problems. In 1596 Sebastián Vizcaíno arrived, giving the area its modern name, La Paz.
Monterey is one of the truly magical places in California. Besides the amazing golf courses, the proximity to the Fisherman's Wharf Pier and Big Sur, the Monterey boasts for its sophisticated shops, galleries and restaurants, and one of the best aquariums in the world.
Nestled in the curve of Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta has steadily maintained its character. The colorful bougainvillea hanging from red tiled roofs and balconies and cobblestone streets are pleasant picture for both the eye and the camera. Spend a day exploring the Mexican countryside along the Maskota River, where are mixed together, tropical vegetation, fields, mango trees, banana trees and other tropical fruits.
San Francisco is officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the leading financial and cultural center of Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area. Tourism is the city's largest private-sector employer, is the backbone of the San Francisco economy. Its frequent portrayal in music, film, and popular culture has made the city and its landmarks recognizable worldwide. As a tourist destination, the city is especially famous for the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, and the area Haight-Ashbury.
At the edge of the Baja peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is a perfect example of the ultimate paradise. This remoted location and its unspoiled beauty makes it the ideal destination for relaxation. There is also available a great variety of activities from scuba diving to surfing and kayaking. Alternatively cross the Los Campos searching for whales.
