Dutch Harbor was so named by the Russians because they believed that a Dutch vessel was the first European ship to enter the harbor. Otaru is a small port city in Japan. It had been always a major trade and fishing port. Its beautiful preserved canal area and interesting herring mansions make Otaru a popular destination. Sakata City is a city located in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. It is situated in the northern part of the prefecture and has a population of approximately 102,000 people as of 2021. It is also an important agricultural center, producing crops such as rice, fruit, and vegetables.
