Sao Tome is the larger of the two islands that make up Sao Tome and Principe, in the Atlantic Ocean. The entire island of Sao Tome is volcanic and most of the lava erupted in the last million years has been basalt. The younger dated rock on the island is about 100,000 years old. The main products produced are cocoa, coffee, copra and palm oil.

Lome is the capital and largest city of Togo. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, Lomé is the country's administrative and industrial center and its chief port. The city exports coffee, cocoa, copra, and palm kernels. It also has an oil refinery. Notable landmarks in the city include Lome Grand Market, the Togo National Museum in the Palais de Congres, a fetish (voodoo) market, Lome Cathedral and beaches.
