Mount Athos is a peninsula and a mountain in nothern Greece. It consists of 20 Orthodox monasteries and the entrance is permitted only in male visitors. While cruising aroung the peninsula, you will be able to admire beautiful beaches and a majestic green scenery. The mountain is dedicated to the Holy Mother of God and that is the reason why females are forbidden to entry the territory. For those who manage to entry, the whole peaceful atmosphere will surprise them. It is a very picturesque place and a visit to the closest town of Ouranoupoli is highly recommended.
