Cape Dezhnev, Russia

Cape Dezhnen is a cape in Chukchi Peninsula, in Russia. It has the typical beauty of the most places in Bering Sea like imposing green mountains in summer and glaciers in winter. It has a historical significance as visitors here can see Soviet ruins and they can explore the historical village of Uelen.

Gjesvaerstappan Islands, Norway

Gjesvaerstappan is a group of lush green islands in Nordkapp Municipality of Finnmark county in Norway. Storstappen, Bukkstappen and Kjerkestappen are the three main islands.

Murmansk, Russia

Murmansk is a port city and is located in the extreme northwest part of Russia. Despite its rapidly declining population, Murmansk remains the largest city north of the Arctic Circle. Murmansk has two main and several small museums as well as three professional theaters, libraries, and an aquarium.

Nome, Alaska

Nome is a city of a vital significance in Alaska. This place offers excellent tundra views and an amazing wildlife. Grizzly bears, moose and many species of birds will be seen here, for sure. Visitors can enjoy numerous activities not only in winter but also in summer. The most famous activity is Iditarod Sled Dog Race that takes place every March and it is one of the toughest sled dog race in the world. Nome is an area of Alaska that satisfy every taste!

Provideniya, Russia

Provideniya is the administrative center of Providensky District of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Russia. The city is located on Komsomolskaya Bay, across the Bering Strait from Alaska. There is a technical school, one functioning cinema, a post office, a museum of Chukotka history and culture and one of the only two ski slopes in Chukotka.

Tromso, Norway

Tromsο is the largest city and the largest urban area in Northern Norway, where occurs the phaenomenon of the Midnight Sun from about 18 May to 26 July. The city centre of Tromso contains the highest number of old wooden houses in Northern Norway. The Arctic Cathedral, a modern church from 1965, is probably the most famous landmark in Tromsο. The city is a cultural centre for its region and several festivals take place during the summer.

Ushakova Cape, Wrangell Island

Wrangell Island is located in the Arctic Ocean and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This island is the most characteristic place of wildlife as it has the largest amount of polar bears. The island took its name from Ferdinand von Wrangell who discovered it. From the Ushakova Cape, you can admire three different kinds of whales; gray whales, bowhead whales and beluga whales.

International Dateline

The International Date Line (IDL) is an imaginary line on the surface of the Earth, that runs from the north to the south pole and demarcates one calendar day from the next. It passes through the middle of the Pacific Ocean, roughly following the 180° longitude but it deviates to pass around some territories and island groups.
The International Date line is on the opposite side of the Earth to the Prime Meridian. The Prime Meridian helps to define Universal Time and is the meridian from which all other time zones are calculated. The International Date Line and the moving point of midnight separate the two calendar days that are current somewhere on Earth.

Silversea Cruises

Let us take you on a personal journey of discovery. Amid the tranquillity of the sea and the exuberance of distant lands, we will arouse your curiosity and seduce your senses. We will stimulate your imagination and spark new insights. Our aim is to create experiences that will enrich your life for years to come. From the moment you step onboard to the time you say "Arrivederci", our Italian sense of style will shine. The ebullience of our hospitality, the genuine warmth of our service and our evident appreciation of the finer things in life are genial qualities of our founders and owners. They are the principles on which Silversea were founded.

Small is beautiful and bountiful. With fewer guests and a high staff to guest ratio, we can tailor our unobtrusive service to individual needs. And you can join a select on board community of travellers with similar aspirations. The intimate ambience on our shιps has parallels with the atmosphere of a refined club. We are happy to sail against the tide. While most cruise lines build larger and ever-larger ships, we prefer to stay small. In this way we can preserve the special Silversea experience our guests have come to expect ... the intimate ambience, personal service and access to more intriguing secluded ports.

SMALLER GETS YOU CLOSER

Our small ships are agile enough to visit more remote, lesser-known ports and to bring you closer to some of the world's greatest destinations. They can sail up narrow waterways into the heart of a city, they can navigate around tiny islands and they can tie up right at the dock while others must anchor offshore. In the world of upscale cruising, less is more... considerably more, as our seven small ships offer infinite opportunities across all seven continents.

SILVERSEA CLASSIC FLEET

Silver Cloud - 296 Guests Resembling a private yacht, Silver Cloud sets the standard of excellence as the inaugural ship. Recently refurbished in 2012, she provides the most intimate sailing experiences, the luxury of space and the ability to slip into exotic ports off the beaten path.
